Business Systems Analyst

The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for leading the requirements gathering, processes and planning to support systems within the company. We’re looking for a motivated individual with project design and delivery experience and a track record of contributing to the success of technology initiatives
  • Ensure that the applications support business processes
  • Contribute in the identification, development, and implementation of processes enabled by business systems/application technologies to meet business objectives
  • Ensuring quality in planning, design, development, and implementation of IT projects
  • Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), project management tools, best practices and processes for the development of IT solutions
  • Delivering solutions supporting IT strategy, architecture, processes, procedures and standards
  • Collaboration with IT teams on solution plans including solutions strategy and architectural design
  • Partner with IT management regarding application of relevant governance procedures
  • Participation in requirement review sessions
  • Working with the application development team to create functional designs
  • Participation in testing, training, and implementation of applications
  • Assisting with the development and documenting of the business's current technology and infrastructure from a functional perspective
  • Assists employees in the use of new and existing capabilities of systems
  • Works with internal business groups to document, analyze, and redesign business processes
  • Working with clients and technical staff to investigate, analyze, and resolve application problems related to system functions
  • Interfacing with business users, including management and other internal resources to ensure quality, timeliness, and testing of all projects/releases
  • Ability to understand and interpret business requirements and lead business initiatives
  • Ability to grasp system functionality and possesses a technical understanding of the design
  • Assists in the creation of the system design and functional specifications for all new development processes
  • Identifies system changes that will yield improved efficiencies of business processes
  • Investigates and resolves application functionality-related issues and provides first-level support and troubleshooting
  • Troubleshoots issues and identifies modifications needed in existing application processes to meet changing user requirements
  • Analyzing system data and identifying data integrity issues with existing and proposed systems and solutions
  • Providing assistance and training to business users in the effective use of the applications and information technology.
  • Writing technical procedures and documentation for new and existing applications including operations, user guide, etc.
  • Participates in meetings with the development team to discuss progress and issues to be resolved, and reports progress on a daily basis.
  • Serves as a liaison and facilitator between all business stakeholders and the development team.
  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions with business unit and end-user; document end-user requirements for data capture, program functions, data quality, reports and analysis, and training.
  • Act as functional expert on internal systems including intimately understanding the functionality in the system, how to translate business requirements into system changes, and the impact of changes to previously implemented releases
  • Identify and document system deficiencies and recommend solutions
  • Process mapping and workflow creation
  • Assist with User Acceptance Testing
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience working as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst
  • 5+ years of experience with activities, tasks, practices and deliverables for assessing and documenting business opportunities, benefits, risks, and success factors of potential applications.
  • 3 years of database design skills
  • Must have technical knowledge of java,.NET.
  • Competent to work in all phases of the SDLC
  • 2+ years of experience working in an Agile environment with proven skills writing User Stories
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and project management tools
  • Basic understanding of IT Project Management
  • Excellent English and organizational skills with the ability to communicate with management, technical and non-technical individuals both internally and externally
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work on multiple projects with different deadlines
  • Basic understanding of workflow analysis and business process modeling
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities
  • Experience with user acceptance testing, use cases and overall testing
