Our client is looking for a DevOps Engineer to work with embedded infrastructure. In this role, you will be building the framework and implementing the automation constructs, as well as having the opportunity to drive continuous integration and continuous delivery of commercial software and embedded software product lines.  You’ll be a part of the agile teams that are responsible for modernizing and optimizing software delivery utilizing the latest and greatest DevOps skills from automated provisioning to automating CI/CD Pipeline and you will be using the latest DevOps tool stack like OpenStack, Terraform, Jenkins, Maven, Chef, Elastic stack , Git and Nagios.
The client will be looking to you to effectively leverage a diverse set of technical backgrounds and opinions by fostering a team-oriented environment and the use of open and direct communications, honesty and respect. The ideal candidate will also actively seek knowledge of new developments in the configuration management, software quality, and test framework fields and will identify and pursue career development and training opportunities.
Someone who has been a build and release engineer or a continuous integration engineer would be a good fit in this role.

  • Working with multiple teams in a large-scale, global development environment using a common code base
  • Managing the build processes and the build environment by using and evaluating tools such as Perl, Make, Visual Studio, Jenkins, PowerShell and Maven
  • Managing, supporting, and executing build processes
  • Managing automated verification/qualification for builds
  • Collaborating with other global locations and other product groups on strategic evolution of build, test, and promotion pipelines
  • Guiding and contributing to the collection, development, review, and adoption of corporate software build, source code branch strategy, configuration management, and software deployment practices, tools, and techniques
  • Contributing to an open source community
  • Setting up, troubleshooting and maintaining build servers and virtual machine environments
  • Investigating and evaluating applicable configuration and build automation methodologies, technologies and tools while introducing approaches into the automated pipelines
  • Identifying and participating in technical and developmental training opportunities
  • Driving continuous integration of automated testing into the build system/process
  • Working with software engineers in an agile development environment to improve quality and turn-around of delivered software
  • Contributing to or independently gathering and documenting requirements for the software quality and test framework environment from multiple internal customers
  • Prioritizing and executing multiple activities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in a Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, or software product development environment
  • Proven experience using tools, such as OpenStack, Artifactory, VMWare, Jenkins, Git, Chef, Maven, Elastic stack, Nagios and Terraform
  • Direct experience with scripting languages, such as Python, Ruby, PowerShell and JavaScript
  • Modern Source Control Management, such as Git or Rational Team Concert
  • Direct experience with the development and deployment of software automated tests or software automated test frameworks and associated execution frameworks and tools
  • Proven ability to investigate and keep up with new technologies in DevOps space
  • Working knowledge of IT networking infrastructure
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate innovative solutions and complex technical information
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team, or independently
