Business Analyst

We are looking for contactors to fill a 6+ month contract opportunity with the potential to convert to direct hire, but this is not guaranteed.  These individuals should be functional business / process analysts who are either U.S. Citizens or Green Card Holders.  We prefer experience working on organizational readiness projects for people and controls, but we’ll also consider similar background and experience.  Insurance and/or finance sector background is highly desired.  These positions are functional Process Analyst / Business Analyst positions, not technical BA positions.  While we’re not seeking software development BAs, individuals with technical software BA experience in addition to the functional experience would be beneficial.
The individuals hired must be willing to reside in the greater Madison Wisconsin area during the time of the engagement.  Remote work is not an option for these positions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or similar degree
  • 5+ years of industry experience as a process analyst or functional business analyst
  • Experience working with Waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively at all levels within and outside of the company
  • Documentation of Functional Work Design compared to Organizational Structure Design
  • Documentation of Organization Structure Design, and Workflow between Departments and Roles relative to designed job expectations
  • Aligning documentation of competencies/role/organizational movement – both pre and post Business Activity Monitoring (BAM)
  • Ensuring competency directories are current and that they reference the right jobs as they shift
  • Create documentation and workflows relative to job and people migration from one role or function to another, ensuring that nothing crucial is missed in transition
  • Build out People area of the “Organizational Readiness Play Ground” to do control testing in the pre-production environment
  • Diagramming current controls in the BAM environment and working closely with the Process team and business analysts
  • Diagramming current system controls that will be migrated into BAM and tracking secure Controls (Who, What, When, Where, Why, How)
  • Diagramming the flow and relationship between the BAM Data and Infrastructure Security Controls, as well as the Process, People and Workflow controls
  • Build out Controls area of the “Organizational Readiness Play Ground” to do control testing in this pre-production environment
Additional Responsibilities 
  • Experience in business administration is highly desired
  • Experience in the insurance and/or financial sectors is highly desired
  • Experience with process documentation and writing high-level functional specifications
  • Experience working with business and executive stakeholders for requirements definition is required
  • Ability to assist with sizing, resource estimation, scope and requirements for various projects
  • Ability to facilitation workshops (in-person and web-based)
  • Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills (oral, written and presentation)
  • Experience working in both waterfall and agile environments
  • Ability to work effectively with both onsite and offsite project team members
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Experience working as a technical BA with an understanding of the software development lifecycle is desired, but not required
  • Experience creating technical requirements from high-level functional requirements is desired, but not required
  • Experience creating software testing specifications is desired, but not required
